What I needed for Internship was a notebook, and despite this notebook not being mine’s, I can use a planner instead of a notebook.

Before I got to internship, I had to pick which organization to interview on February, And my pick was Media Arts Center, because they make short documentary films. I felt like it was a bit hard for me to interview with them, but after the interview I felt a bit better, because I thought I left a good impression.

The first week of internship was a pretty good start for me! During that week, we were thinking up topics for our short documentary film. On May 9th, I was at the Hoover High School listening to other students from around the world explaining their racial backgrounds. Listening to them inspired my team for the film.

This is where I was working at during internship month. It was really nice here, my mentor was nice as well, And it was kind of hard to think up topics for a short documentary film, but we eventually came up with something we liked, which was Food Justice.

Here’s my Mentor, Alex (left) & Natalia (right) creating a checklist for the equipment we have for our short documentary film. Like I said previously, my mentor was nice, and so was Natalia.

Here’s Gustavo (right) testing out the camera with Walter (left). And by then, they were working as the cinematographers/directors of the Short Documentary film we were working on. But mostly, Walter worked as the director of photography, while Gustavo was the director of the film itself.

Here’s Fernanda, who is researching more on the Crawford High School. Crawford High School and Hoover High School were the two schools that where we would be filming at for the final project we are working on. I felt like filming there was a lot easy for me because of how I did for my 9th Grade “Survive To Thrive” Project, and that I would like to try it more in the future.

Here’s Ms. Chelsea (left) and Ms. Sarah (right), who came to visit my internship site on May 23rd. They were very impressed by our work, and couldn’t wait to see our film. Even though I work with Ms. Chelsea more than Ms. Sarah, they were still equally happy to see us.

This was the flyer that was created by Fernanda, and was printed on the day before we premiered our movie. I couldn’t wait for people to come in and see our movie before that day. When everyone saw the film, they loved our work, and afterwards, we answered questions from the people who watched it.

This is Hoover High School. We interviewed 6 students from that school for them to talk about what Food Justice means to them, and how it could help make a healthier community in their school. I felt like interviewing someone was a bit harder for me, but I still tried to keep up by thinking up questions to ask.

I feel like everything I did during internship made me into a better person, and I'm going to keep trying to work better until the end of my Senior year, and then I plan on finding my college or job of choice. I really miss my internship, and I really feel like I want to do it for longer.
